Basic Overview
- Every kundalini meditation is opened with the same opening chant and the protection chant (included below).
- Then you will proceed onto the Kirtan Kriya for 11 or 32 minutes. (I recommend starting at 11 minutes, unless you are a well practiced meditator.)
- Then you end with "Sat Nam".
(Don't worry, it's all is outlined below!)
With kundalini meditations, you start with a 40 days minimum.. and if you miss a day, then you go back to day 1! This holds you accountable. You can keep going after 40 days to prove your ownership and mastery of this meditation.
Here's the outline:
1) Adi Mantra (opening)
(To tune into the divine flow and self-knowledge)
"Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo"
(Repeat 3 times)
Translation: "I bow to the Creative Wisdom, I bow to the Divine Teacher within."
2) White Light of Protection
"Aad Guray Nameh Jugaad Guray Nameh Sat Guray Nameh Siri Guru Dayvay Nameh"
(Repeat 3 times)
Translation:
"I bow to the Primal Wisdom. I bow to the Wisdom through the Ages. I bow to the True Wisdom. I bow to the great, unseen Wisdom"
3) Kirtan Kriya
(Eyes closed with focus in the middle of your eyebrows) "SAA TAA NAA MAA"
For each word, touch each fingertip with your thumb with both hands simultaneously.
The chant will progress from speaking out loud, to a whisper, to silent, to a whisper, and then out loud. (Follow with audio)
Translation:
"SAA: Infinity, cosmos, beginning (First fingertip)
TAA: Life, existence (Second fingertip)
NAA: Death, change, transformation (Third Fingertip)
MAA: Rebirth (Fourth Fingertip)"
After the Kirtan Kriya, follow with 1 minute of stretching the arms overhead and spreading the fingers wide, shaking them out, circulating the energy, inhaling and exhaling 3 times.
4) Close the meditation
"Sat Nam" Translation:"Truth is my identity"
